Destination guide

Flying business class to Tel Aviv

Tel Aviv is the most concentrated premium market we cover, and that concentration is the first thing to understand before you book anything. El Al has flown the route throughout. Delta returned to New York JFK on the first of September 2025 and brought Atlanta back on the fifteenth of April 2026, three times weekly on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. United has kept its New York service suspended through at least the seventh of September 2026, and American is not expected back at Ben Gurion until January 2027.

Fewer carriers means firmer published fares, and that changes the strategy. On a route like London or Paris, four or five airlines undercut each other nightly and the retail price reflects that pressure. Into Tel Aviv the published price is currently set by two carriers rather than five, which is precisely the condition under which the wholesale and consolidator channel earns its keep. The gap between what a booking site shows and what an agent can actually source is wider here than on almost any European route.

Cabin advice

Where the value sits on this route

With only two carriers holding the nonstops, the published fare has less downward pressure than on any comparable route we handle. That makes the one stop options over Frankfurt, Zurich and Istanbul unusually competitive. We quote both on every Tel Aviv request rather than assuming the direct flight must be the better answer.

Tel Aviv business class FAQs

  • El Al from New York JFK and Newark, Los Angeles, Miami and Boston, and Delta from New York JFK and Atlanta. United and American are not operating the route at present.

  • Not currently. United has kept its New York service suspended through at least 7 September 2026, and American is not expected back at Ben Gurion until January 2027. That leaves El Al and Delta on the nonstops.

  • A little over ten and a half hours eastbound. That is long enough that the flat bed determines what your arrival day actually looks like rather than simply making the night more pleasant.

  • Late winter, and the window between the summer heat and the autumn high holidays. Passover and the September and October holidays are the sharpest peaks, and both move from year to year.

  • Yes. El Al's Dreamliner business class is a flat bed product. It is competent rather than a showpiece, and the airline's advantage on this route has been continuity of service rather than the cabin itself.

El Al is the constant. It flies nonstop from New York JFK and Newark, from Los Angeles, Miami and Boston, and adds San Francisco from the twenty fifth of October 2026. Its Dreamliner business class is a competent flat bed rather than a showpiece, and the airline's real advantage on this route has never been the seat. It is that El Al keeps flying when others pause.

Delta runs the Airbus A330-900neo on the JFK service with the full Delta One cabin, a flat bed with direct aisle access. The Atlanta return matters more than it looks: it opens the whole southeastern and midwestern connecting network to the route, which for anyone based outside the northeast is often worth more than the cabin itself.

One stop routings carry more weight into Tel Aviv than they do into western Europe. Lufthansa over Frankfurt and Munich, SWISS over Zurich, Air France over Paris and Turkish over Istanbul all reach Ben Gurion with a short second leg. When the nonstop inventory tightens, and on this route it does, those hubs are usually where the flat bed value has moved to.

The nonstop from New York runs a little over ten and a half hours eastbound. That is firmly in the territory where the flat bed stops being a comfort question for anyone with something to do on arrival day. Ben Gurion itself is an efficient airport with a security process that is thorough by design, and premium passengers should still allow more time on departure than the size of the terminal suggests.

The seasonal pattern follows the Jewish holiday calendar far more than the weather. Passover in spring and the cluster of high holidays across September and October are the sharp peaks, and both move from year to year. The quiet windows are late winter, and the stretch between the worst of the summer heat and the start of the autumn holidays.

Book earlier than you would for Europe. With two carriers holding the nonstops and the peaks compressed into short calendar windows, the premium cabins on the good dates disappear long before they would on a transatlantic route with five competitors fighting over the same passengers.
